Frequently Asked Questions:

This is my daughter’s first night at an overnight camp, should I be worried?
We understand it’s hard to make that decision for the first time. Rest assured that for over a decade, we’ve been a “first time” camp for dozens of girls. The first night tends to be the hardest and we know that. So we jam-pack that first day with lots of fun things that burn lots of energy to make falling asleep away from home that much easier. We also have lots of mamas as leaders to tuck them in and give them hugs.

My daughter has a friend coming, will they be in the same small group?
We try our best to make sure campers are with friends and try to accommodate any requests. However, please know we make sure groups don’t form cliques and that all campers have plenty of opportunities to feel included and make new friends too!

What if I need to contact my daughter while she’s at camp?
While we are promoting a phone-free camp during this session, one of our co-founders, Katie, will have her phone with her at all times. Her phone number is listed on the info and packing list. Our socials will also be monitored during the session.

Will I get updates during camp to know how my child is doing?
Absolutely! We have a dedicated leader (and fellow mama) who makes all our posts during camp so you can see all of our fun activities and smiling faces. We also post questions after camp to help you have a deeper discussion about everything we’ve covered.

This all sounds great but we just can’t swing the registration fee right now. Are there any options for my daughter?
We have generous donors who sponsor campers! Let us know what assistance you need and we can talk about payment plans and scholarships.

I have a few daughters of different ages, can just 7-13 year old girls attend?
No! We have a spot for any girls ages 7 and older. MOP crew and leaders do start camp a day early for a special training. Reach out if you have multiple ages and we can talk about what would be the best fit for everyone.

What kind of activities do you do at Camp Bara?
We have small group time, team building, large group games, learn dances, sing silly songs, swim, enjoy nature, eat really good food, have messages and worship that lead us closer to Jesus, and LAUGH!

Why should we choose Camp Bara?
We say it all the time but we are one big family. It’s a great opportunity for your daughter to get out of her comfort zone, meet new friends, and join a special community. We’ve created a space that not only builds a strong foundation in who God says she is, but that’s a safe place to ask questions and be needed and known.
